The Reverend John B. Moose

In August, 1917, the Reverend John B. Moose became regular mission pastor of Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Moose secured the first floor of the Masonic Hall and regular services were held each Sunday morning. On the first Sunday in October, 1917, as Sunday School was organized. There were three classes: the Adult Class, the Intermediate Class, and the Beginners' Class

Pastor Moose resigned September 10, 18 to accept work in the Mt. Pleasant Collegiate Institute, Mt. Pleasant NC. From August, 1917, until September 1918, Grace membership had grown to forty confirmed members.

 
 

The Reverend N. D. Bodie

The Reverend N. D. Bodie, became regular mission pastor of Grace Church, September 15, 1918. On May 1, 1919, he accepted a call from Grace Church to remain as regular pastor. Pastor Bodie continued to serve the congregation until July 1, 1926. At the close of Pastor Bodie's work the congregation had grown to a membership of one hundred and nine confirmed members

From July, 1926, to September 15, 1926, the congregation was faithfully served by Theological Student C. Ross Ritchie.

 

The Reverend G. O. Ritchie

The Reverend G. O. Ritchie accepted the call from Grace Church on October 1, 1920. Pastor Ritchie served the congregation most faithfully until his death on February 8, 1937

By June, 1937, the confirmed membership of Grace Church had grown to one hundred and ninety-eight members

 

The Reverend E. F. Troutman

The Reverend E. F. Troutman became pastor of Grace Church June 1, 1937, and served until May 1, 1938. Pastor Troutman was an aggressive work and although he was here only eleven months, the increase of twenty-five members, brought the total confirmed membership to two hundred and twenty-three.

During the summer of 1938, Theological Student G. Dwight Conrad, son of the congregation, served Grace Church. It was during these months that the confirmed membership grew to two hundred and fifty-three.

 

The Reverend Charles R. Patterson

The Reverend Charles R. Patterson became pastor of Grace Church September 1, 1938, and resigned on August 15, 1947, to become pastor of Saint Stephen's Lutheran Church, Hickory, NC. Pastor Patterson also served as supply pastor of Silver Valley Lutheran Church from 1943 until 1947. At the time of Pastor Patterson's resignation the confirmed membership had grown to two hundred and seventy-seven

The vacancy following Pastor Patterson's resignation was filled by Dr. C. Luther Miller, as regular supply pastor, until November 15, 1947.

 

The Reverend Charles S. Wessinger

On November 15, 1947, the Reverend Charles S. Wessinger accepted the call of the congregation. Pastor Wessinger completed his ministry at Grace Church on March 15, 1956, having accepted a call to become pastor of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Charleston, SC. At this time the congregation had grown to be the largest Lutheran church in Lexington County. Membership was 436 baptized, 326 confirmed and 261 communing. The Sunday School enrollment had grown to three hundred and five

Theological Student Carl King supplied Grace Church during the summer of 1956.

The Reverend Jack Everett Smith

The Reverend Jack Everett Smith was called as pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in 1956 and took office on July 1, of that same year. In September, 1956, Pastor Smith resigned in order to accept a call to Saint Mark's Lutheran Church, Asheville, NC. The congregation was served by theological students during the winter and spring of 1959 and 1960. During the summer of 1960 Theological Student Robert Sims served full time until the call of the congregation was accepted by the Reverend J. Daniel Brown, Princeton, NJ.

The Reverend J. Daniel Brown

The Reverend J. Daniel Brown began his work at Grace Lutheran Church on August 12, 1961. Pastor Brown served Grace till 1962.

Pastor Glenn Boland and Pastor Pam Isley served as interim pastors until the Reverend Mike Hoffmann was called as Grace's new minister.
